Oana was born in Romania, where she completed all her musical studies in 2002 with a BMus (Hons) from Gh. Dima Music Academy, Cluj -  Napoca. In 2005 she decided to become a freelance musician, continuing to collaborate with various professional and amateur orchestras, as a session musician and managing two string quartets.

Oana has been involved in various projects as a freelance musician. In 2005, together with other three fellow professional musicians, founded Gioia String Quartet, where she was member and manager of the group. Sadly Oana had to leave the group in 2011 when she left Romania. In 2014 Oana moved to Soutth England where she put together another group of professional musicians, LaCordia String Quartet, group in which she played viola and managed it until she moved to London in 2017. Here her activity was more focused on private teaching (1 to 1 lessons) and occasionally performed with orchestras around London. Currently she is an active member of Audentior Symphony Orchestra, playing regularly in the concerts.

Although she is classically trained, she can play and teach various styles, which can make the lessons and the repertoire more fun and interesting. She is a reliable and committed professional, proactive, with a positive approach in her work and attitude, focusing on quality rather than quantity, detailed orientated, with a strong belief in setting a good and strong foundation for your musical journey, including music theory as part of the lesson.

Wether you are just starting to learn to play an instrument or you want to bring your playing to the next level, Oana has experience teaching a range of ages from young children to retirement age, beginners to advanced level. She always has a custom approach of teaching style and technique, which suits better the personality of the tutee in order to enjoy the learning process.

 

She helped her students to achieve very good results on their ABRSM exams, as well as helping them with the Aptitude Tests (Music Theory and Playing) for admissions in Secondary Schools or Sixth Form Colleges. For students interested to take further their musical studies and would like to take exams, she will focus mostly on the program requested for the exam.
