Online lessons are an alternative to lessons in person and they are taking place in real time.

I would recommend taking online lessons only if life gets in your way...lack of time to travel to the music studio for lessons in person, running late for the lesson in person or the distance to travel is too big to get to the music studio to make the effort worthwhile (time and costs).
